Scheduled Road improvements on Main Street begin today
Mayor Ryan and the Village Board of Trustees along with the Village of Hempstead Community Development Agency are happy to announce that the Main Street Beautification project is nearing completion. This project was initiated under Mayor Hall's administration and continued with the support of the current administration. This project was funded through the New York State Department of Transportation. The work included pedestrian, sidewalk improvements and curbs, gutters, crosswalks and pavement restoration as well as the installation of curb extensions (bulb outs), pedestrian scale lighting, trash receptacles, trees, planting, benches, a water feature, signage and pavement markings between James A. Garner Way and Front Street. The project is in its final stage of the repavement of Main Street which will begin on Friday, October 25th. (weather permitting)
