The Village of Hempstead Mayor Don Ryan attended the NAACP Hempstead Branch’s 35th Annual Freedom Fund Luncheon on June 3, 2017. The event is held to recognize leaders and role models who support the NAACP’s strategic plan for racial equality. The theme for the luncheon this year was “Our Lives Matter, Our Votes Count. As part of the program, six leaders and a high school choir were rcognized for their outstanding work for the community.
This event represents a key aspect of the Village of Hempstead’s dedication to celebrating the diversity that exists within the Village, and welcoming all members of the community to come together and support one another.
