NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing pursuant to Title 1 of Article 18-A of the New York State General Municipal Law will be held by the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency ("the Agency") on the 12th day of May, 2016, at 9:30 a.m., local time, at Town of Hempstead, Town Meeting Pavilion, Town Hall Plaza, 1 Washington Street, Hempstead, New York in connection with the following matters:
Renaissance Downtowns UrbanAmerica, LLC, a New York limited liability company, on behalf of itself and/or the principals of Renaissance Downtowns UrbanAmerica, LLC and/or an entity formed or to be formed on behalf of the foregoing (the "Company"), has applied to the Town of Hempstead Industrial Development Agency (the "Agency") to enter into a transaction in which the Agency will assist in the acquisition of two tax parcels (Section 34, Block 340, Lots 316 and 319) totaling approximately 7.2 acres of land located at the northwest corner of the intersection of Washington and Front Streets in the Village of Hempstead, Town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York (the "Land"), the construction and equipping of two 5-story residential buildings with approximately 336 apartment units totaling approximately 350,000 square feet (28 studio units, 234 one bedroom units and 77 two bedroom units) located thereon, and the renovation of an existing 3-level parking structure located thereon (the "Improvements" and "Equipment"; and, together with the Land, the "Facility"), to be used by the Company as a multi-family rental apartment complex. The Facility will be initially owned, operated and/or managed by the Company.
The Agency contemplates that it will provide financial assistance to the Company in the form of exemptions from mortgage recording taxes in connection with the financing or any subsequent refinancing of the Facility, exemptions from sales and use taxes and abatement of real property taxes, consistent with the policies of the Agency.
A representative of the Agency will, at the above-stated time and place, hear and accept written comments from all persons with views in favor of or opposed to either the proposed financial assistance to the Company or the location or nature of the Facility. At the hearing, all persons will have the opportunity to review the application for financial assistance filed by the Company with the Agency and an analysis of the costs and benefits of the proposed Facility.

This camp will be dedicated to mixing summer fun while teaching youth about fitness, healthy eating, self-confidence, empowerment and how to push themselves to achieve goals.
Voter machine demonstration on Tuesday, March 3, 201 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm at Village Hall 99 Nichols Court. It will take place before the Board of Trustee meeting. All residents will have the opportunity the voting process and to register to vote.

The Village of Hempstead has joined in an innovative new Pathway to Citizenship initiative to assist documented immigrants who are interested in attaining U.S. citizenship. Secretary of the State of New York, Cesar Perales, Citi Community Development and the Village will kick-off the program on Tuesday, April 29th at 11am in the Kennedy Park Auditorium.
Pathway to Citizenship will assist immigrants in their citizenship application process, and the evaluation of foreign- received degrees and certifications. Financial education workshops will also be offered.
I am asking you to share the word with your contacts and encourage them to come out if they need information about the Pathway to Citizenship. Anyone with an outstanding warrant from the VILLAGE OF HEMPSTEAD will be able to
appear without the fear of arrest and have their warrant vacated and tickets resolved. This is only for Village of Hempstead Warrants. Warrants for other Villages, Counties or Towns will not be addressed.
Traffic Violations, Building Complaints, Disorderly Conduct, Trespassing, Drinking in Public, Urinating in Public, and other Hempstead Village Code violations will be addressed.
